He is already at the top, or certainly high enough to be among the top. It remains to be seen if he can stay there.

He’s got as good a chance to win the WDC as Alonso or Massa.
The second half of the season will tell.

you can’t say anything,because F1 is unpredictable
and Hamilton may soon have a car problem, crash or sth else!
June 23rd 2008
yes. he is totally on fire this season. he was on the cover of racer magazine when he was 10, keep that in mind.
June 26th 2008
very good chance he will, but like has already been mentioned its very unpredictable in F1
June 27th 2008
i dun think so. dAVID beckam can drive better than him.

Who knows? Sure, it would be nice to see a rookie win the championship…..but as everyone else has pointed out, F1 can be very unpredictable.
I think the main thing we should look at is that this season is at least interesting. Something F1 has failed to be for a while.
Whatever the outcome, be it Alonso, Hamilton, or, some how for some completely unknown reason (probably a rift in the space time continuum)…………Takuma Sato, as long as it stays interesting anyone can win it this season and I’ll be happy.

Why is everybody jumping to conclusions so soon? It’s only been 6 races out of 18, and you`re already crowning Hamilton? I think everyone will agree that Hamilton is no Schumacher. And just who was the only driver to win two WDC’s in a row in the Schumacher era? Mmm, let me think, duh! Hamilton has won one race, not even a championship. And, yes, expertise does matter in F1. 6 races, Jeez!

He is at the top of teh standings. But Massa and Alonso can still catch up with him. So can Kimi. If Hamilton just has a DNF it would be enough
