I need help with a math problem…
My goal for 2009 is 10,289
the current amount I’ve raised is 4,742
I know I need to raise 5,547 to achieve that goal. How do I calculate the percentage left to my goal. Like the percentage of how close I am to completing the goal. For some reason my excel formulas don’t look right.
I’m kind of thinking of it like fund raising. How do they calculate the percentage of money they’ve raised in relation to the goal.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

All you need to do is divide the number left by your goal. You will get a dicimal so times it by 100 and you’ll get your %.
April 28th 2009
percentage left is (5547/10289) x 100%
percentage raised is (4742/10289) x 100%

Its just a fraction
the part left
——————
the whole
5547
——–
10289
= 0.539
53.9% remaining
The amount you current have raised is…
4742
——–
10289
= 0.461
46.1 %
April 30th 2009
Goal=10289
So far=4742
4742/10289 X 100=46.09%
% yet to go = 100%-46.09%=53.91%
Goal=10289
So far.4742
……..______
To go 5547
5547/10289 X 100=53.91%
Take your pick.

you just divide 4,742 by 10,289.
which gives a decimal of .046…..
so you’re 46% of the way there.
