Driving sports cars, like a Dodge Viper, Ferrari, or Lamborghini Diablo?
I had a dream were I had to choice either to drive in a race with a Viper or Ferrari; it seemed like the race was a Formula One race. In my dream I had a hard time picking which one, but decided on the Viper out of some kind of loyalty. The Viper was painted red, white and blue. It was a very exhilarating dream, I imagine much akin to the way some people dream about flying. I woke up very happy.
So, is this just a wish fulfillment dream? Or is there any symbolic meaning here?

It means that you are competitive. Or maybe you are in a situation where you feel there is competition and it’s moving fast. Focus on the feeling of the dream. Did you feel overwhelmed or anxious? Speeding or Cars usually mean your life is going by very quick and time is short. not that your dying but that your losing time on something you want to do.

It depends. Maybe your moving way too fast and need to slow doewn. Maybe your going to crash. Maybe pay attentions to markers and light on your life race.
So many possibilities come to mind.

It would be a thrilling experience and I would consider it wish-fulfillment. The only other interpretation would be a sublimal conviction that life is indeed a competition and that one overcomes or is overcome. But that implies a value judgement,namely that the competitive urge is unhealthy and many people - including myself - consider it a normal impulse. My dad used to take my little brother and I go-cart racing when we were in grade school and I found it positively ecstatic. I liked it more than my bruder and I was better at it too! No,,just think of it as a lovely dream. Regarding competition as normal and healthy is no longer the fashionable attitude,and we all know what is. Personally,I think a blanket condemnation of competitive urges is is a little too goody-goody for my taste,however P.C. it may be. I think it’s kind of a drippy attitude. I have two children and they learned (?) to compete entirely on their own,and they get an enormous amount of pleasure out of it. Come to think of it, I’ve never taken them go-cart racing! You know,now that I think of it - I wouldn’t be good parent if I don’t. Zoom! Get outta the way! Here I come!
A healthy impulse and therefore a positive dream? Yes. Life should be a thrill,not perhaps every moment but at least a thrill-a-day to keep the doctor away.
