This is because the threats in the SWOT analysis are external factors that have the potential to negatively impact the business. The PEST analysis is an analysis of the company’s external environment and the things that impact the industry that the company operates in. These could be legitimate threats to the company. You could also look at the PEST analysis for opportunities as these are based on external circumstances also.
