After the sale of Aston Martin to a group led by Prodrive head David Richards, speculations have risen that Jaguar may be the next luxury brand to be sold by the struggling Dearborn based car maker. The sale of the super luxury brand generated much needed funds for the financial woe beset Ford.
Aston Martin is one of the most expensive brands in the world and in its stay in the Ford stable, the brand has seen improvement second only to the David Brown era. But since problem after problem has beset Ford, they see it fit that the brand be sold to generate funds they can use for development of other brands they deem important to their restructuring plan.
Last year, the Ford Motor Company experienced their lowest point in their storied history. The company posted a loss of $12.7 billion and they have borrowed the sum of $23.5 billion to help them get back to profitability. The sale of Aston Martin is one good step for Ford since they can now focus on other more pressing problems.
But the question in the minds of some auto experts is whether the sale of the brand is enough to bolster the sagging financial status of the company. Some experts in the field said that if Ford’s restructuring plan falters, they may be putting up the Jaguar brand for sale just like they did with the very profitable Aston Martin.
To these speculations, Ford’s leadership team answered that Jaguar is not for sale. In spite of this statement from Ford, there are still those in the industry who still think that Jaguar will be sold - maybe later than sooner. Some even went as far as quoting a sum for the sale of Jaguar.
The brand has no been profitable in recent years. This fact will play a key roe when the time comes that Ford will sell the brand. Experts pointed out that to sweeten the deal of selling Jaguar, its cousin, Land Rover, should be thrown in the mix. The quoted amount that may be generated for the sale of the two brands is between $1.3 and $1.5 billion.
But there are those in the auto industry that see the sale of Aston Martin as a blessing for Jaguar. The reason cited for this is that Jaguar can now develop vehicles which will be aimed at super luxury car enthusiasts.
For years, Ford has contained the development of Jaguar since they cannot allow Jaguar to produce cars which will directly compete with the super luxury vehicles manufactured and marketed under the Aston Martin marque. With the departure of the brand though, Jaguar can step up and claim the position recently occupied by Aston Martin until its sale to the group composed of two Kuwaiti investments firm, Aston Martin collector and banking billionaire John Sinders, and Formula One team boss David Richards.
If Ford chose to sell Jaguar in the long run together with its British cousin Land Rover, what would be left of the Premiere Automotive Group, Ford’s luxury portfolio, will be Volvo. While there are still no rumors as to whether Volvo will be ultimately sold, the fact remains that the sale of Aston Martin has served as a Nissan control arm by supporting the weight of the problems faced by Ford.

James Bond may have the looks and the moves, but let’s admit it. He’ll never be as suave as he is without those James Bond vehicles he’s sporting. See Bond’s cars emit tear gas, run faster than a cheetah and disappear before your eyes. I’m telling you, a weapon of mass destruction hides behind those sleek and amazing machines he’s driving.
We’ve seen a wide foray of James Bond vehicles with which to foil his enemies throughout the series. Just like his watches and cunning gadgets, his cars function more than just a vehicle to get from point A to B. These vehicles are equipped with modifications like weapon system, alternate transportation modes, and even the ability to go invisible! With seamless technology in his vehicles, it is no wonder that James Bond is able to survive the harshest explosives, dodge the fastest bullets, and still look like he’s up for another martini.
To quench your growing curiosity about these four-wheeled beauties, here is a list of some of the James Bond vehicles that made our jaws drop.
Aston Martin DBS V12 (Featured in Casino Royale, 2006)
This is the personification of classic and beauty in four wheels mode. The Aston Martin DBS V12 might not have the hoots and whistles like an adaptive camouflage or anything as fancy as that, but its features are just enough to stop the villain from hoarding more money and eventually causing more worldly troubles. Aston comes with items such as a defibrillator and anti-poison/chemical combi-pens. These add-ons truly made Bond’s life easier in his conquest to save the world.
Aston Martin V12 Vanquish (featured in Die Another Day)
This car doesn’t only bridge the gap between the road and tracks. Staying true to its signature innovativeness and sleek design, this Aston plays tricks on your eyes with its awesome additional option, Adaptive Camouflage (the what?). In simpler and less complicated English, it just means that this beauty can literally disappear before your very eyes. Without magic or frills, the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish uses “tiny cameras on all sides to project the image they see onto a light emitting polymer skin on the opposite side”. Once again, in plain and less complicated English, the technology of the car makes it invisible to the ***** eye.
It’s beautiful and dandy, but the car also has deadly tricks behind its front-grille. Armed with a bevy of other cool gadgets, the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish also boasts of missiles, machine guns, spiked tires, and target-seeking shotguns. When all these are not enough to send to destroy the enemies, James Bond could always use the car’s customary ejector seat. Real sleek, isn’t it?
BMW 75Oil (featured in Tomorrow Never Dies)
BMW is the car of the elites, but through the magic and genius of Branch Q, this baby has been transformed from luxurious to deadly. It contains a surprising number of modifications including bullet-proof windows and body, tear gas features emitted from the sides of the car, mini-missiles coming out of its sunroof, metal spike dispensers in the rear, re-inflatable tires, and lethal grenades (whew). Being a true James Bond vehicle, the BMW 75Oil can be accessed only by Bond himself through his high-end mobile phone. If anyone else dares to lay a finger on its door handles, this BMW can deliver strong electric shocks enough to make anyone pass out. This is one touchy car.
BMW Z8
We first caught sight of this pimped James Bond vehicle in The World is Not Enough. This remote-controlled car is equipped with missiles and a set of weaponry that become really handy when James Bond had to destroy one of the helicopters in the film. The BMW Z8 is absolutely a mammoth of a vehicle.
We’ve seen Bond steer, ride and strut these high tech vehicles. With the release of his next flick, Quantum of Solace, more James Bond vehicles are sure to grace the screen. After all, a James Bond film is not complete without some roaring machines.

Easy money 1
Find an easy race such as a drag or something short that you can win quickly. Win the race and get the money. Go back to the safe house and start the race again. Win the race to get the same amount of money again. Repeat this process as much as desired. This is quite useful when you need that extra bit of power to defeat a blacklist rival, but don’t have the money for a better car or parts.
Easy money 2
Defeat one of the opponents on the blacklist. You will get two marks to use on several different things. Do not use them on the Uniques early in the game. Instead, use them on the middle or the left “Random” choices. They should usually come out to either a large cash bonus or the opponent’s pink slip.
Easy money 3
If you need 2 complete a drag race 2 go against the nxt blacklist racer, finish it then look on the blacklist menu and click on the drag logo and say that you want 2 replay the race and you will get even more money 4 it. Keep doing dis an den get an immense car. cool or what!!!
Easy money 4
$1,000 or $500 for free! (bounty) go to the bounty page and go to the rose wood police station. from there, break through the tool booth and hit the left hand side of the tower. the cop will be blocked and you can go to the safe house and get your bounty.
Easy bounty
Get some cops to chase you, then go to the bus stop. Get on top of the buses and make sure that the front of the car is at the edge of the last bus so that the cops can see you and do not lose you. Keep looking behind you, because the cops will sometimes find a way on top of the buses. When they do get on the buses, just reverse as soon as you see them coming and push them off. Only one cop car will come on top of the bus. Do this for as long as desired. When you want to lose them, just reverse, park in the middle of the buses, and wait until your Cool Down bar fills. The cops will also drive crazy and crash into themselves, giving you extra bounty and bring up your rap sheet rankings on police vehicles immobilized and police vehicles involved.

The South Florida International Auto Show presents brand-new and classic cars at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Top national and international manufacturers showcase their latest models and innovations, alongside accessories and services relating to the car industry. In 1971, Datsun introduced the 240Z, gasoline was 36 cents a gallon and the South Florida International Auto Show launched its first exhibition. Today, the auto show is among the largest and most prestigious in the nation. It gathers nearly 1,000 of the newest models from more than 40 manufacturers all under one roof at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
Popular exhibits include Auto Show Mall, Motorcycle Mall, Million Dollar Alley featuring Aston-Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Maserati and Rolls-Royce and Memory Lane with an impressive line-up of classics including this 1963 Chevy Impala “Super Sport” convertible. The South Florida International Auto Show, one of the largest and most anticipated auto expositions in the country, will serve as the venue for national product introductions by Volvo and Jaguar. Nissan and Hyundai are also expected to hold press events. The show, which runs from October 23 – November 1 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, will feature hundreds of vehicles from the world’s top auto manufacturers. Visitors will be able to view the latest crossovers, SUV’s, pickups, concepts and accessories. Manufacturers will also present the latest in fuel-efficient technologies.
“South Florida has always been an attractive market for manufacturers to exhibit their newest designs,” said Gary Feil, show chairman of this year’s 39th annual event. “We’re pleased that some of the manufacturers will be unveiling their models for the first time at our show.” Volvo will introduce its C30-R-Design and its C70, both of which were unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Highlighting the C30-R-Design is the new chassis which is considerably sharper making steering more precise. The roll stabilizers are stiffer to reduce any leaning tendency when taking corners. Volvo’s C70 is an elegant coupe combined with a sporty convertible. Bodywork details such as the front wings have been redesigned and the nose is more wedge-shaped. The interior features an instrument panel that has been redesigned, giving it a wider, sleeker look.
Jaguar’s 2010 XJ will make its North American auto show debut in South Florida. The XJ’s lightweight aluminum structure makes it at least 300 pounds lighter over steel body construction, and it’s made with 50 percent recycled material. The XJ comes in both standard and long wheelbase models. The long wheelbase provides rear-seat passengers with an additional five inches of legroom without compromising the truck space. In addition to the manufacture displays on the main floor, visitors can explore other popular exhibits throughout the convention center. Memory Lane celebrates automotive history while Million Dollar Alley displays the most exotic and luxurious models on the market. The Car Boutique also offers an array of auto and home accessories available for purchase.
“Our auto show offers something for everyone from the casual consumer to the automobile aficionado,” said Feil. “It is also a great opportunity for families to enjoy some time together for only a few dollars.” Tickets are $10 for adults and $3 for children 6-12. Discount tickets are available at participating new car and truck dealerships and McDonald’s restaurants in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. The South Florida Automobile Dealers Association, which today comprises more than 220 dealerships in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe counties, has been the official sponsor of the South Florida International Auto Show since its inception in 1971.
