asked:

Once again, Pinifarina came through with a design that stands alone, compliments the nature of Ferrari tradition, while heralding state of the art technology to deliver the Ferrari that drivers wanted. Modern concept melted together with the Enzo Ferrari tradition to produce the 1996 Ferrari Maranello.

The designers were given a basic mission before the concept of the Maranello even began to blink in Pinifarina’s shining eyes. Build the car that driver want. Design the car that provides the performance, the ease, the sensual experience that is Ferrari, but do it without sacrificing comfort or drivability.

This sweet and seductive two seater Gran Turismo sports car lured the Ferrari fanatics to a new level of ecstasy with her grace under pressure and her commitment to style. The Ferrari company was known for its tendency to allow form to follow function, producing performance cars that performed, but left aesthetics as a by product of that performance.

The Maranello was unique in her attention to detail, both inside an out. With a top speed of 200 miles per hour and the well earned International Engine of the Year award in both 2000 and 2001, this little coupe exuded sophisticated craftsmanship with functional but clean lines.

Her body emanated strong impressions while her 12.90 second ½ mile emanated an equally strong impression. She was the completion of sport car and refined user friendly success. Ferrari enthusiasts heralded the new addition and found her to be as impressive on the streets as she was in the showroom.

With a six on the floor design and a strong delivery of 485 horsepower when the tachometer hit 7000, her delivery was unmistakable. The 5.5 liter V 12 engine purred instead of rumbled, and her debut was an ultimate success.

Creating a lighter car with full function-ability was a simple choice of construction materials and making those design changes where it was bound to pay off without sacrificing anything else. The oil sump, the cylinder block, and the head were all crafted from a light alloy. The crankshaft, which was faithfully supported by 7 journals, gave way to lighter anti friction bearings. The con rods were crafted from a lighter titanium alloy, which naturally led to the obvious ability to reduce the necessary counter weight of the crankshaft. All of this led to a lighter design that not only enhanced performance but improved upon responsiveness and balance.

asked:

A project followed by a team of competent and determined engineers. Hundreds of hours of research and development under the protection of a well defined plan – the launch of a new specialist tractor. The new Ferrari Cobram is now available in a range of three models with two engine sizes of 49HP and 58HP exclusively from Lamberhurst Engineering. Like all products that boast the Ferrari trademark, the new Cobram range also stands out thanks to its quality and high level performance. The new models have been designed to add concrete value to the investment: lower fuel consumption, greater performance and wider usability of the machines. The principle that inspired the project was that of creating tractors that produce the most favourable working conditions and offer their owners more competitive financial management. The attention to Ferrari’s customer’s needs was the focal point for the development of the new Cobram range. During this task, it was of fundamental importance keeping the best features that marked the first Cobram range, it is thanks to this approach that resource were dedicated to perfecting those aspects that are considered to be subject to improvement, according to the indications of their customers, while maintaining those well known qualities that have always distinguished these machines. So, a new range of tractors has been created, with high performance engines and gearboxes that are suitable for the new powers, increase in reliability, functionality, performance and improvement in driving conditions. The new range of Ferrari Cobrams is on sale in the UK exclusively from Lamberhurst Engineering.
asked:

Fresh on the heels of the millions of voluntary recalls from 2009 – 2010, Toyota will issue yet another recall early next week in regards to its unsafe wheels on all new Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The malfunction occurs only when driving at speeds above 60 miles per hour. The lug nuts loosen significantly, sometimes coming completely off, at these speeds and cause the wheels to wobble and come off.

The cause of this malfunction is not completely understood, but one technician who spoke only on the condition of anonymity attributes the malfunction to the shoddy design work. He is not upset about the recalls. According to him, the overtime he will receive from the influx of customers seeking to repair their cars will go toward his oldest daughter’s college fund, a mini-vacation for him and his mistress, and a new car, possibly the new Chevy Cruze. He only hopes that when Toyota does the recall after his wife goes on her road trip in her 2012 Camry. He is certain she will travel at speeds above 60 miles per hour. The last few accidents have left no survivors. He hopes his wife will be no exception.

asked:

Ferrari is the Italian sports car manufacturing company. It is well-known for its participation in the Formula-1 races. In the beginning, company was only manufacturing the sports cars for racing. Later, it began the series of sports cars for road use. Ferrari 308 is one such sports car manufactured by the company for road use. This car formed the lower end of the company’s range.

Ferrari 308 was manufactured and sold between 1970s and 1980s. It replaced its predecessor model Dino 246 in 1975. It was first introduced to public in the Paris Motor Show in 1975. It was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti who is responsible for some of Ferrari’s most celebrated shapes to date.

The 308 was available in two types viz. 308 GTB and 308 GTS. The GTBs and GTSs were the two seated cars with sweeping curves and aggressive lines. It has become the most popular and iconic Ferrari road car.

Ferrari 308 GTB/GTS Design:

The Ferrari 308 GTB/ GTS provided Pininfarina with the opportunity to loosen its design and styling muscle. Company provided the exact looks required for the sports car by redefining the public’s collective impression of what a Ferrari sports car should look like. The external appearance of shape of 308 bears close resemblance to Pininfarina’s Dino 246 GT.

asked:

CABESTAN and Ferrari have partnered to jointly design and produce a limited edition luxury timepiece to celebrate the Prancing Horse’s Formula 1 racing history, deeply inspired by Ferrari race car technology and design.

The case embodies speed, power and aerodynamic perfection, and is made of a titanium alloy created for components of Ferrari Formula 1 cars. The single crystal enhances the distinctive visual lineage that is unmistakably Ferrari. On the sides, a special magnesium alloy was used to create likenesses of race car wheels and the lug nuts, that are emblematic of motor sports.

The motor is perfectly visible with its large wheel, stylishly engraved lightweight aluminum rotary drums and carbon fiber center plate. Even the leather strap, captures the emotion of Daytona leather seats of Ferrari automobiles.

The nucleus of the motor with its vertical gear-trains is a vertical tourbillon coupled with a miniature chain and fusée, a 6-speed automatic transmission, that compensates the torque curve of the mainspring and delivers a constant force to the movement resulting in amazing accuracy : ± 1 second per day.

The result is an exceptional timepiece, perfectly embodying the passion, excitement and performance of the Scuderia Ferrari.

The Scuderia Ferrari One by CABESTAN will only be made available to Ferrari clients.

Enzo started of as a mule-shoe fitter with the Italian Army, but his constant sickness due to the widespread Italian flu, he was discharged from the Italian Military services. His family business collapsed and he had no choice, but to seek a job.

Enzo tried to find work with FIAT, but settled for a smaller car company “CMN”.CMN dealt with the manufacturing of passenger cars using old truck bodies. Enzo’s long pursued racing dream finally came true, when he started racing with the CMN racing team in the year 1919 and achieved little success.

After leaving CMN in 1920, Enzo Ferrari worked with Alfa Romeo and started racing for them in local races. These races got him success along with an opportunity to race for a better competition. However, he refused the offer and continued working for Alfa Romeo before starting his own firm.

asked:

Proud 510 “Cavallini Rampanti” (these horses are the brand name of the Italian sports car sportwagenschmiede) are strained before the südländische Kutsche F430 Scuderia. The Scuderia is, which each good sports car should be: a racing car with road permission. No more and not less. In this case even: less. At least, which concerns the weight. Owing to diätischer nutrition the ungedopte top-class sportsman brings unloaded weight to only 1,250 kilograms on the balance - remarkably little for such muscle-show off. The result can hear itself and let see: In the comparison with the Coupé F430 it abgespeckt full 200 Kilos. And 30 horses more. From 0 to 100 kilometers per hour the black horses gallop in less than four seconds. If one gives them the Sporen, they reach in full gallopp over 320 km/h.

The competition hat´s before-made. In the Italian homeland Lamborghini sent the Gallardo Superleggera into running around the perfect symbiosis from Leichtgewicht and lead foot. In Germany one pulled 911 GT2 tight with the Porsche, the fastest Serien-911er of all times. With the refurbished F430-Modell kitzeln Ferrari engineers 510 HP with 8500/min from the V8. Thus the weight per horsepower sinks according to manufacturer on 2,45 kg per HP. The third series of the F430 beside Coupé and Spider were also otherwise modified: The half mechanism is standard and provides for still faster course changes - within 60 milliseconds the sports car is weitergepusht owing to the semi automatic transmission as by spirit hand. In addition the traction and stability control were optimized. The Ferrari experts likewise updated engine electronics. An electronically regulated differential is on board. An old acquaintance will reveal the Italian road rocket in September on the international motor show in Frankfurt. No different one would be worthier of this action than it: Ex-Formel-1-Weltmeister Michael Schumacher.

asked:

A very special car indeed is FERRARI 550. The 50th anniversary of both the company’s first joint Endeavour and scuderia Ferrari’s 2000 and 2001 championship through the world for the constructors of formula 1. The name and shape that harkens the sports racers is Ferrari 550 barchetta and maranello. It is a legendary sports spider of the year 1960.The ultimate expression is perhaps Ferrari 550 barchetta which is from sun lover’s Italian automobile. It is exiting from every angle and with addition of carrozzeria scaglitti equipment. One more model from Ferrari 550 addition is Ferrari 550 maranello. It is a Ferrari interpretation of 21st century with 12-cylinder front engine sports Barletta. Superb response is given to 550 maranello for every exceptional quality of life, dynamic requirement and styling efficiency that combines the modern concept with Ferrari tradition. Ferrari 550 maranello is the finest two-person GT car which is available today. The Ferrari 550 wheel system is the first driver controlled active anti-wheel spin.

The Ferrari 550 wheels rides on one-piece, cast magnesium alloy, five-spoke speed line wheels which reflects pininfarina’s styling and Ferrari’s technical specifications. These wheels pass tests which are stringent imposed by Ferrari and German LBF Technical Institute. The front and rear wheels measures for Ferrari 550 barchetta are 8.5 x 18” as dictated by breaking specifications. A special anti –corrosion paint protects each wheel by speed line.

The Ferrari 550 wheel has four different types of tires, which are produced especially for this car. It offers a unique driver-adjustable control system which is stable. The system intervenes, depending on the selected mode by cutting off the torque delivered by the engine, coordinated by the ABS system, independently breaking the two rear wheels. Suspension damping settings selects the mode of complements by giving the driver total control of speed -sensitive track and in relation to speed, pinion steering system varies assistance.

Ferrari 550 wheels rides on cast magnesium alloy, five-spoke wheels reflecting the Ferrari’s style and its technical specifications. For Ferrari maranello, the front wheels and the rear wheels measures 8.5 x 18 inches, 10.5 x18inches as specified by breaking requirements. Ferrari’s structure has been modified specially to maintain rigidity and strength. Driving in inclement weather, the removable roof panel is a good solution. While driving they enjoy the sheer joy of being with nature from the track or road.

The Ferrari 550 wheels in turn have relation with brake system which is very significant to know about. When breaking required, the energy exerted on the front axle a system with large, discs and pads made up of material called friction, through which a extra thick diameter is drilled. To ensure an acceptable brake fluid, thermally insulated pistons are developed for front calipers in all weather. Four-channel ABS incorporating electronic proportioning completed the system by offering performance that is ideal in declaration above 0.5g. The brake system is designed to be light for all unsprung components. At the rear unit, a six-speed gear box is mounted with the limited –slip differentiates for ideal weight distribution. Through a steel tube engine is connected to a gear box rigidly and contains three -bearing drive shaft which carries the drive from the clutch to the gear box. A simple and manual soft-top is functional and unadorned, the Ferrari style solution enabled Ferrari’s engineers to reduce the additional weight gained by reinforcing the chassis and rear roll bars fitting. Other exclusive designs includes, distinctive features such as two piece alloy wheels ,Ferrari badges on the wheel arches ,aluminum flue filler cap which is unique. There are many color options to be chooses while ordering the car. Ferrari wheels have unique features when compared with other brands.
