The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is one of my all-time favorites. The blend of performance with luxury enables it to do so much, so very well indeed. From the space inside, to the extra room in the back too, to the way it genuinely provides full four seat capacity, it’s just an extremely well rounded motor car.
Overall, it appeals to people who want a big, classic V12 coupe but also want something a step beyond the Bentley Continental GT. When it was launched in 2004, it proved to be a more controversial design than its predecessor, the 456GT, which was a beautiful and much admired Ferrari. The 612 though, is a big step forward in terms of quality. The 5.7-litre V12 engine is unusually refined and produces 540bhp.
A lot of that controversy surrounded its size; the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is significantly larger than the 456M it replaced, though the obvious benefits here are in all that extra passenger space. Indeed, this helped Ferrari broaden the market for this machine, with its new found GT credentials helping more people justify it. The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is produced entirely from aluminium, which means it is relatively lightweight for such a commodious four-seater. This helps handling agility no end, with the 612 offering a good drive that fully lives up to the Ferrari ideal, particularly in later iterations. Performance from the mighty V12 is also substantial: it can top 195mph, and accelerates to 60mph in just 4.3 seconds.
Typically for Ferrari, both six-speed manual and semi-automatic F1 shift gearboxes are available; the latter by far outsells the former. A regular automatic is not available. Drivers can be a bit disappointed by the F1 semi-auto gearbox in the 612. However, from 2007, the F1 gearbox was improved and the HG TS handling pack made available. Both these really transform the car. Later in 2007, the big screen navigation and Bose sound system really completed the improvements, and make the 612 Scaglietti the ultimate four seater coupe GT.
On the whole, it appeals to people who want a big and classic V12 coupe, but also want something a step beyond the Bentley Continental GT. It’s a level above, say, an Aston Martin DB9. In terms of market position, only the Bentley Brooklands seeks to offer a four seater coupe at a similar price, but of a completely different character. We at Clive Sutton offer a wide range of new and used Ferrari cars for sale. We deal across the UK and can look after your Ferrari car buying or selling requirements wherever you are located.

Unfortunately the closest most of will ever get to driving a Ferrari will be to buy an item in the merchandise range. These symbols of style and grace are for many a dream car but many owners find themselves wishing they had not bought the car in the first place. A Ferrari for many men and women is the ultimate driving experience; sadly with the increased traffic on the roads the experience can be wholly disappointing. Maybe it would be better just to buy some merchandise and let people believe you own Ferrari instead.
After all for most that is all a Ferrari is; a status symbol that lets people know that you have the wealth to drive one of these exquisite cars. Ferrari owners seem to adorn themselves in merchandise, caps, coats, pens and cigarette lighters. Surely if you have the money to own a Ferrari you should not feel the need to show the entire world through an extensive merchandise collection, although if i owned a Ferrari i probably would.
Ferrari drivers in many cases are resented anyway. Seemingly it is only car nuts and young boys who are amazed when they see one of these impressive motors in the street. The majority of people see Ferrari owners as arrogant and in many cases, ‘making up for deficiencies in the rest of their life’. This shouldn’t put people off buying Ferrari merchandise however, if you don’t own a Ferrari, its not such a crime.
This said, not all Ferrari owners buy their car for purely status purposes. There are many out there who own a Ferrari for the marvellous driving experience. These true car nuts would far prefer to take their pride and joy onto a race track rather than the city streets. Speed and handling are the ethos behind every Ferrari; being Italian they also include sumptuous styling.
There is of course an exception to the rule that most Ferrari models cause resentment amongst the general public. If you want a Ferrari and still feel the need to be respected by your fellow man, buy a classic. Classic models seem more likable to the general public; models from the sixties are probably the best way to do this but will cost you a fortune as they are less seen as cars but more collector’s items. The high expense of classics for us mere mortals however means buying a miniature model from the merchandise range will be as close as we can get.
For those of you thinking of buying a Ferrari the most affordable model would be the Mondial from the early eighties. Not as aesthetically pleasing as other models it is widely regarded as the cheapest Ferrari for enthusiasts to purchase. Remember however that a Ferrari will cost a great deal more to run than a normal car. Servicing must be carried out regularly while spare parts cost a small fortune. Ferrari’s also go through tires like most households go through milk, at a few thousand pounds a tyre, this is a great expense.
Buying a Ferrari may not endear you to your fellow man and you will only succeed in impressing adolescent boys. If purchasing merchandise try and keep it low key, a watch or pen will suffice to let people know you are a member of the Ferrari fraternity. There is no doubt that owning a Ferrari is one of the greatest pleasures in life, but remember there is a time and a place to drive like a lunatic.

Los Angeles, CA–Ferrari is a world-renowned name as an Italian Sports Car manufacturer based out of Modena and Maranello, Italy. The company was founded in 1929 by Enzo Ferrari. The Ferrari line of vehicles are considered to be the most desired cars to both own and drive and are an ultimate status symbol of wealth. Simply having one in your driveway changes the impression people will have of you. The Ferrari 328 is less about status for most enthusiasts and more about trouble free ownership.
The classic line of Ferrari GTB/GTS seems to be the most common choice for the first time buyer of a Ferrari. Currently there have been more than 10,000 sold and there is a solid supply of these vehicles. When it comes to affordability, having this need in place will bring the overall cost down and make this a more affordable exotic car. Commenting on the efficiency of a 328 would be remiss if we first did not discuss its predecessor - the 308 which was one of Ferarris most successful vehicles.

The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is one of the best ever GT super cars. It’s fitted with a detuned version of the famed 6.0 litre V12 Enzo engine. This produces a staggering 620bhp: the 0 to 60 time of 3.7 seconds is about the fastest of any production car.
The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano is a strict two-seater; it shares the same aluminium chassis as the 612. It is important to note though, that the F1 shift was much improved in the 599. It’s still not as foolproof as a regular full auto, but the shifts are much smoother than some F430 buyers fear. It was introduced to replace the mighty 575M Maranello and was unveiled in 2006. It is the brand’s two seat flagship, and has long been much in demand.

HISTORY
The first Ferrari 360 Modena coupe models arrived in the UK in April 1999. Initial press reaction was favourable if not ecstatic, many reviewers caught on the hop by the F355’s premature demise and not entirely comfortable with the Modena’s slightly awkward styling. What brooked no criticism, however, was the engine. With 400bhp on tap from a 3.6-litre V8, the power was 25bhp up on the F355, even if the car had put on 40kg of extra weight. Available either as a conventional manual or with the ‘F1′ style paddle gearchange, the 360 Modena continued the latter day tradition of entry-level Ferraris being a showcase for innovative engineering solutions, not least in its aerodynamics and integral use of aluminium structures.
The Ferrari 360 Spider convertible model’s launch was delayed until October 2000 due to engineering issues concerning the car’s soft top. With a similar window on the mid-mounted engine as the coupe, the Spider’s desirability was boosted by the closer proximity to the V8’s manic aural accompaniment. Again, the Spider was offered with manual or F1 gearboxes, with only around 35% of buyers opting for the paddle change. Perform a downchange with Ferrari’s F1 gearbox as you brake hard into a corner and you’ll wonder why.
The range was added to in Summer 2003 with the arrival of the 360 Challenge Stradale coupe. Effectively a road legal version of the Ferrari 360 Challenge race car (Stradale means road compatible in Ferrari-speak) and weighing in at a hefty £133,025, the Challenge Stradale is a lightened, toughened, lower and faster version of the 360 Modena aimed at both gentleman racers and well-heeled trackday fiends.
WHAT YOU GET
Practicality has made the Ferrari 360 great. This might seem a perverse sentiment, pertaining as it does to a two seat, mid-engined 400bhp exotic, but Ferrari definitely learned lessons from the overblown eighties cars that still lingered in the range when President Luca di Montezemolo took over the reins at Maranello. Describing the Athena-poster 512 TR as \”a show off\” and the 348 as \”one of the worst Ferrari’s I’ve ever driven\”, di Montezemolo envisioned a future where Ferraris were possessed genuine utility a la Porsche 911.
If the firm could engineer in such utility without diluting capability, the car’s mileages would rise, the cars would act as mobile Ferrari advertisements, dealers would undertake more servicing business and both new and used sales would blossom. Walking a tightrope between exclusivity and revenue, di Montezemolo might just have pulled it off. Certainly the Ferrari 360 is the sort of car that offers more than a passing nod towards practicality. The early promotional videos showed Eddie Irvine casually tossing a bag of golf clubs into one, and Ferrari were at pains to demonstrate the wider opening doors and narrower sills. Driver and passenger airbags and a swooping, soft dash remove a little of the stark, supercar drama of years gone by, but the smell of hot oil and the impatient whine of that glazed-in V8 that permeates the cabin lets you know that the boys in the engine department have adopted the practicality drive with something less than work-to-rule willingness.

The image of the great F1 driver Michael Schumacher driving a glorious red Ferrari is enough to set the hearts racing for many. The word Ferrari itself requires no introduction. Well, if you’re a real fanatic about Ferrari, then hold your breath and read on.
Italy as most of us know is a place known for its exotic locales and historical importance. But what very few know about is the Ferrari factory that Italy is home to. A trip to Ferrari factory in Italy would definitely be a dream come true for anybody who is crazy for the inimitable Ferrari.
If you’ve been to trip to Italy and felt that the three hour trip between Florence and Venice has nothing very interesting that would draw attention, then you’ve missed something truly interesting in an otherwise uninteresting place - The Ferrari factory. Located in Maranello, this factory is a truly glorious feast for travelers who have a passion for the world’s most famous car.

If you bought a Ferrari, you likely made that purchase for investment reasons, you tell yourself. And that is likely true, but what is also true is that you bought it because you love to drive a sports car fast, it cannot be denied. If this describes your relationship to your Ferrari, and if you have had some race training and experience, then you might be ready to participate in the North American Ferrari Challenge Series for non-professional racers who are Ferrari owners competing in racing Ferrari cars against each other.
Ferrari selects a different model vehicle to feature each year of the Ferrari series. For this year, F430 Challenge with a booming 479 hp is the car of choice. The rules stipulate that the drivers compete for fun and in a sense of “fair play.” It is not a jumping-off point for the aspiring race car driver; instead, it is an end unto itself. The Ferrari Challenge Series is sanctioned by the Grand American Road Racing Association.

The Ferrari 550 Maranello 5.5 litre V12 engine was launched back in 1996 with mixed reviews. But over the years people have learned to love the 550 Maranello. It has perhaps become more appealing due to the fact pre owned cars are starting to enter the second hand market. The price has now reduced from a 6 figure sum to a 5 figure sum which although is considerably cheaper than its original price it is still too expensive for the majority of people. In addition to this the car has kept its originality over the years. The biggest news came in October 2000 when Ferrari launched 448 limited edition 550 Barchetta Pininfarina cars.
Like most Ferraris the Maranello 550 immediately hits you with its Ferrari unique style. It looks exquisite, sleek and expensive. The interior of the car is faultless with elegantly designed lines and luxurious material reinforcing that this car is fantastically expensive. This supercar is like a work of art which is shown by the average Ferrari driver only travelling about 2000 miles per year in this beautifully crafted car. Of course the other reason why most Ferrari owners only drive relatively short distances is because most Ferraris are fantastic to drive which is one of the main factors that a Ferrari sports car is purchased in the first place whether it is pre-owned or otherwise but they are fairly impracticable. For example driving around city centres is almost impossible because of several obstacles such as speed bumps and pavements reducing the road width. Vital experiments in this area have been carried out, Top Gear presenters driving around Paris in luxury sports cars which caused a major traffic jam and who could forget the difficulties in driving out of a city car park due to the way the supercars are designed.
Ok, so the car is not the most economical car to drive in the world but then again you wouldn’t be buying this type of car if you wanted to save money. The starting value for a 550 are around

The popularity of the Ferrari is known the world over. The Italian carmaker is known not only for building good looking cars with high performance but also for the price that these vehicles fetch. In fact the company’s cheapest model has a base price of $150,000. When it comes to expensive cars, Ferrari just set a record for the most expensive Ferrari ever sold.
The sale came at an auction held in the marque’s Italian assembly facility. Hosting the auction are the Canada-based RM Auctions Inc. and the trusted Sotheby’s. The auction saw 33 classic Ferraris being auctioned off. The most expensive of the lot is the 1962 TRI/LM Testa Rossa Spyder. The said classic race car fetched a price of 6,875,000 euros or about $9.275 million. While the car became the most expensive Ferrari ever sold, it is not the most expensive car sold in an auction. That distinction belongs to a 1931 Bugatti Type 41 Royal Sports Coupe which was sold for $11 million.
The Testa Rossa Spyder is said to be the world’s most famous race car since it was used by Ferrari in the 24-hour Le Mans. The dominance of the car of the said prestigious racing event spanned from the late 1950s to the early 60s. The car sold at the auction for the record price is the last of its kind which is one reason why the price reached more than $9 million. The particular model is the last Ferrari race car to have its engine in the front and it was driven by Phil Hil and Oliver Glendebien at the Le Mans in 1962. Aside from that particular car, the auction also sold classic Ferrari cars which earned the Italian car manufacturer more than $46 million.
