The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is one of my all-time favorites. The blend of performance with luxury enables it to do so much, so very well indeed. From the space inside, to the extra room in the back too, to the way it genuinely provides full four seat capacity, it’s just an extremely well rounded motor car.

Overall, it appeals to people who want a big, classic V12 coupe but also want something a step beyond the Bentley Continental GT. When it was launched in 2004, it proved to be a more controversial design than its predecessor, the 456GT, which was a beautiful and much admired Ferrari. The 612 though, is a big step forward in terms of quality. The 5.7-litre V12 engine is unusually refined and produces 540bhp.

A lot of that controversy surrounded its size; the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is significantly larger than the 456M it replaced, though the obvious benefits here are in all that extra passenger space. Indeed, this helped Ferrari broaden the market for this machine, with its new found GT credentials helping more people justify it. The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti is produced entirely from aluminium, which means it is relatively lightweight for such a commodious four-seater. This helps handling agility no end, with the 612 offering a good drive that fully lives up to the Ferrari ideal, particularly in later iterations. Performance from the mighty V12 is also substantial: it can top 195mph, and accelerates to 60mph in just 4.3 seconds.

Typically for Ferrari, both six-speed manual and semi-automatic F1 shift gearboxes are available; the latter by far outsells the former. A regular automatic is not available. Drivers can be a bit disappointed by the F1 semi-auto gearbox in the 612. However, from 2007, the F1 gearbox was improved and the HG TS handling pack made available. Both these really transform the car. Later in 2007, the big screen navigation and Bose sound system really completed the improvements, and make the 612 Scaglietti the ultimate four seater coupe GT.

On the whole, it appeals to people who want a big and classic V12 coupe, but also want something a step beyond the Bentley Continental GT. It’s a level above, say, an Aston Martin DB9. In terms of market position, only the Bentley Brooklands seeks to offer a four seater coupe at a similar price, but of a completely different character. We at Clive Sutton offer a wide range of new and used Ferrari cars for sale. We deal across the UK and can look after your Ferrari car buying or selling requirements wherever you are located.

There are many different models of Ferrari to choose from. Whether you are looking to get a brand new Ferrari, or opt for the slightly cheaper version of investing in a second hand one, there are lots of things to consider when choosing which model is right for you. Over the years Ferrari has remained a popular company, and is constantly updating its models to keep Ferrari at the forefront of its competition. Here are a few different models for you to consider.

The Ferrari F430 is one of the cheaper models you can get your hands on. On the whole, Ferraris are no suitable for novice drivers. This is particularly true of the F430, which is performance orientated, and really packs a punch as far as driving is concerned. It is fun to drive but at the same time takes skill to handle. Its top notch equipment is perfect for somebody who appreciates fine motoring and knows how to make the best of such a car. It can reach a maximum speed of nearly 200mph, and can achieve 0-60mph in just over 4 seconds.

Another exciting model is the Ferrari 612. A comfortable two door four seater, with a reasonable boot as well. The high tech looking controls are beautifully finished. Logically placed for practical usage, they have a high quality feel to them, reminds you that you are driving a quality car.

The 458 Italia has been hailed the best car ever made. It hasnt even gone on sale yet, but it has already picked up awards from organizations such as Top Gear. Faster than other models, it can get to over 60mph in just 3.6 seconds, which is incredibly fast, even for a Ferrari. The car isnt available with a manual gearbox, but it isnt hard to see why when you take into consideration its seven speed, twin clutch automatic transmission. It wouldnt be possible to change gears manually it will change gears for you in less than 50 milliseconds.

If you are considering a slightly older model of Ferrari, how about the 1984 Mondial Quattrovalvole Coupe? It reaches a top speed of around 150mph, so not as fast as other models but still a very fast car. Like most Ferraris it is low to the ground, causing problems for some passengers. But on the whole the car is a good little runner. It handles well and has massive breaks to make for easy stopping in any situation. Many other features make this a great car for day to day use as well as being a fancy car to really hit the road in. Good cabin room makes it suitable for practical use too.

Different models of Ferrari have different strengths and weaknesses. You will need to research them properly to find out which one is right for you. Talk to your local car dealer ship about new or used Ferraris, tell them what is important to you and they should be able to suggest the best model for you. For example, are you looking for a Ferrari that is practical, or is performance the most important thing to you? Whatever you are looking for in a Ferrari, take a good look at all different models to choose the one best suited to your needs.
